Save an OPAL Report to your Local Computer through the Nazarene RDS System

For the example of this document we are going to save the Persons Details Report as Excel to the “Documents” folder on our local computer.

So we will go to Reports select Persons Details and Export as: Excel and click “Run” like normal.

Next we will get the “Open” or “Save” options.  We want to click on the down arrow next to “Save”.

Then choose “Save As”.

On the Save As window we need to click on “This PC”.

Unsupported image type.

Next Click on “C on ....”(in the example is shows IT-056 but for you it will show the name of your computer) and then Click on “Open”.

This will now show you a list of folders on your computer, for the example we are going to save the report to our “Documents” on our computer.  Click on “Users” and then Click on “Open”.

You will then see a list of names, Click on your username (in the example we are using mlenzen) and then Click on “open”.

You will then see a list of folders under your profile.  Click on “Documents” and again click on “Open”.

Now that we are in the location we want to save the report we can change the File name if wanted and then Click on “Save”.

Now if you go to that folder location on your computer you should see your file that you just saved from OPAL.  If you would like this to be your default save location, after you Click on the “Save” don’t close the next window but instead Click on “Options”.

Then Click on “Browse”.

Repeat the steps from above until you get to the folder you want to be your Default and Click on “Select Folder”.

Then Click on “OK”.

Then Click on “Close”.

You now have saved a report from OPAL and made your “Documents” (this is what we used for the example) folder on your local computer the Default save location.
